Dennis Richardson AO is a Non-Executive Director of Vault. Dennis is highly experienced in the government sector with many decades of public service. Dennis was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2003.
Dennis has held senior positions in many major Australian Government departments, including Deputy Secretary at the Department of Immigration and Ethnic Affairs, Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and nine years as the Director-General of Security of the Australian Security Intelligence Organisation.
Between the years 1990 and 1991, Dennis was the Chief of Staff and Principal Advisor to then Prime Minister Bob Hawke. In 2005, Dennis was named Australian Ambassador to the United States by former Prime Minister John Howard, a role he performed for four years. Immediately prior to joining Vault, Dennis was Secretary of the Department of Defence from 2012 to 2017.
Through his public service, Dennis has gained a priceless understanding of the requirements for working with Government Departments. As a Non-Executive Director, he provides Vault with this knowledge, helping the organisation to be a leading cloud provider for the Australian Government.
Dennis holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honors) from Sydney University.
