Jane Halton AO PSM is the Chair of Vault’s Board. Jane brings with her a wealth of private and public Board experience, which includes being an independent non-executive director of ANZ, the independent Chair of the Council of the Ageing, a director for Clayton Utz, and a Council Member for the Australian Strategic Policy Institute.
Before joining Vault, Jane had a distinguished career in the public sector. She held positions in many Australian Government Departments, including Secretary of the Australian Department of Finance where she was responsible for the essential services delivered by the department; Secretary for the Department of Health and Ageing, a position she held from 2002-2014; and senior roles as Executive Co-ordinator (Deputy Secretary) of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. Her considerable knowledge provides Vault with a greater understanding of the requirements of providing services to the public sector.
Jane has received many awards for her public service. In 2002, she was awarded the Public Service Medal. In 2015, she was awarded an AO (General Division of the Order of Australia), in the Queen’s Birthday 2015 Honours for her service to public administration, through the development and implementation of public policy, and to professional national and international organisations.
Jane holds Adjunct Professorships with the University of Sydney and the University of Canberra.
